SOCE Career Guidance Unit

The School of Computing and Engineering (SOCE) Career Guidance Unit at NIBM functions as a dedicated student support platform for academic planning, career development and professional transition. The unit helps students make informed decisions about study pathways, employability skills and future career opportunities in Sri Lanka’s computing and engineering sectors.

As technology fields continue to change, students need clear guidance to connect their academic learning with industry expectations. The SOCE Career Guidance Unit supports students in identifying their strengths, interests and long-term goals while helping them understand career options related to software engineering, IT, cybersecurity, data science, networking, engineering, and Artificial Intelligence.

The unit follows a structured and student-centred approach to career development. Through counselling, mentoring, employability support and industry exposure, students are guided to make confident decisions about further studies, internships and professional careers.

The Career Guidance and Counselling Unit at the NIBM School of Computing & Engineering provides structured support to help students make informed academic and professional decisions.
